We got up, cleaned our hotel and had breakfast. Mike did a load of laundry before the rest of us woke up. We headed to Wisconsin! We stopped and had lunch by "Pinky" the Elephant.
From the road Wesley said, "That elephant is almost as big as dad! And it has Grandpa Randy hair and glasses."
Then we were back on the road.
We got to the Great Wolf Lodge around 2 pm.
This was a very expensive stay, but it had a really neat water park that was included and only for hotel guests.
We went to the water park as soon as we dropped our stuff off at our room. It took us a while to get our room. There was a mix up with the room number. Mike had to wait in a long line to get our right room number. When we got our room it was kind of dirty, and the toilet was really gross.
But the water park was really fun!
They had too many water slides to even count.
It had a lazy river, several swimming pools, a wave pool and several splash pads! It was awesome!
We swam all day it seemed like. We went to dinner around 6 at Buffalo Phil's.
It had some fun decor.
It also had trains all over and the trains even delivered our food! The kids loved that. It was a fun place to eat and the food was pretty good.
We got back to the hotel just in time for story time. They had singing animals and a little show. Then a story book.
They had thing called a Paw Pass that Mike broke down a bought. He sure does love and spoil his kids!
Jaycee got a large stuffed animal squirrel named Sammy that took her on a scavenger hunt through the lodge then she got a prize at the end.
Wesley got a magic wand for Magi Quest. He would point his wand at things and they would take him on a quest. In the hotel it would make creatures talk. It was fun.
They both got a cup full of Mike & Ike's they got to pick the different flavors, and arcade games.
I got a leather bracelet with my name on it! We weren't sure how to split that one up.
Then Jaycee got some goggles and Wesley got a glitter tattoo.
They were so good to share everything. There was no fighting or complaining. We were pretty impressed with them.
Mike stayed with Wes on his quests and I stayed with Jaycee on her scavenger hunt. We walked all over! I got a lot of steps this day. Mike says they also walked a lot!
We got back to our room after 10, that was when Jaycee's scavenger hunt got turned off. We were so close to being done too. Wesley's quest could keep going until 11, but they came back around 10:20.
It was a fun packed day!

We woke early and packed everything up and ate breakfast. Check out was 11 o'clock, but we could stay all day if we wanted to. We did a lot more swimming. First Jaycee had to finish her scavenger hunt. The nice lady gave both Wesley and Jaycee a prize for completing the scavenger hunt. Wes did a little more questing, then we went swimming.
Bensen liked it much better today. Yesterday everything scared him and he hated getting splashed.
By the time we were ready to leave he was trying to swim and loved floating on his back! The water slides were really fun. Mike raced the kids on this one and won!
Jaycee's favorite was the Tornado slide, I didn't get pictures of it, but it was pretty scary.
Wesley loved the wave pool!
Bensen was loving jumping in the pool from the side and they had a couple of water slides that were just his size.
They had fun little obstacle course.
Bensen liked the lazy river.
There was a really nice outside area that we didn't spend a lot of time in because it was cold. It had a couple water slides, a nice big pool and then this cute little splash pad area.
In the big indoor splash area there was a huge bucket that would fill with water and dump every 5 minutes or so. This one got Mike, it is also the one that scared Bensen the most!
We took one last dip in the nice warm pool, then we went and used the showers. That was interesting. Mike went and showered, then I took all the kids with me to shower them off. Little did I know that the showers wouldn't be all that private. A lady and her kid came in buck naked, she did ask how old my boy was (Wesley) before she came in. I was scrambling...I made Wesley stand in the corner and wouldn't let him turn around. He wasn't happy about having to come into the women's room in the first place, he was pretty embarrassed.
After we got all showered the kids played their arcade tokens, then Wes went and played more Magi Quest. He really liked it. It's too bad we don't have one around here. They played for about an hour, then it was time to head for South Dakota.
We left a little after 3. We stopped several times. Once to take a picture with a giant mouse on cheese.
We stopped and ate at Perkins in Minnesota, and we stopped at the Jolly Green Giant also in Minnesota.
Wesley was pretty excited about this stop.
He was asking us the whole trip when we were going to see the Green Giant.
We drove next to several storms. The lightning was non stop, and beautiful.
Later we made a pit stop at McDonald's, used the restroom and got some ice cream.
Even later we stopped at the Corn Palace in South Dakota.
It's 11 o'clock pm and we still have a couple hours to go before we get to the Badlands. We don't have a hotel for tonight so we are planning on sleeping in our van.
Then tomorrow we have a campground at a KOA near the Badlands.
