This year I decided to do a 25 days of Christmas. We've had a good time with it.
On the first day of December we read the story "Teach the Children" It teaches about some of the symbolism's of Christmas. We put this tree together as we read.

On a couple of our nights we have gone to the different city lights. We've been to Layton, Ogden, and Roy. Here we are at the Ogden lights. It was so nice, it had rained most the day, when we got there it had let up a bit. It was fairly warm and not crowded at all. Amber and her kids came with us.
We didn't even have to wait in line for Santa. We walked right in and the kids sat on his lap.
Wesley was a little frazzled. Santa asked him what he wanted and he sat there for a second the loudly said "Pillow". That's it, it was funny.
The kids loved it.
They wanted to see everything. They were sad when we told them it was time to go.
Jaycee's been playing basketball. She is on a team in South Weber with Paige and Mae. It has been fun watching them play. They have improved so much, and Jaycee loves it.
You can see the determination on her face. :)
They are so cute and they have the best cheering squad.
For several of our days we have been reading Christmas books. We wrapped them and put them under the tree. The kids really love getting to open presents early.
We've been wearing Wesley out.
Yesterday for our 25 days of Christmas we made some treats for some of our neighbors. Wesley loved helping. I put the cake in the oven and left for a minute and when I came back in the kitchen I found Wesley like this
A chocolaty mess! He had found the beater and the bowl.
After I took it out and frosted it I went to get ready for the day. When I was done I found the cake like this. Don't worry we didn't hand out that side, it was a good excuse to keep some for ourselves. After we made the cake we made some chocolate chip Oatmeal cookies.
We waited to make our other things for when Jaycee and Mike could help us. I have some really good helpers. Most of the candy even made it onto the pretzels.
I have loved doing the 25 days of Christmas. It's been nice to have a plan. We have had to switch things around a little, but we've been able to do everything we planned. I also did a 25 days for Mike. It actually started out just for Mike but then I found all these ideas for kids, so I made them one also. For Mikes I mostly just did things I love about him, with a few dates thrown in the mix. It has been fun also. They were both a little bit of work, but so worth it.
Merry Christmas!
