Fall Break-Yellowstone

For fall break this year we rented a cabin in Island Park.
We went to Yellowstone.
Every time we come here I am amazed, and scared because I am sure it is going to blow at any minute!

Our first day in the park was the warmest day. The next day was pretty cold! We were still able to see most the things we wanted to. This was the first time Amber and Tyson had brought their family. So that was fun.

The kids liked the park, but they were really excited to go back to the cabin to get in the hot tub and play games!

On the third day of our trip we tried to go back into the park to see one more thing, but they had the park closed because the roads were too bad. So we went to the bear and wolf zoo. It was fun, the kids got to see bears and wolfs and we got snowed on.

We had a fun little trip, it is always nice to get away! And I got the nice master bedroom because I couldn't make it up any of the stairs. The one bright spot of having a torn Achilles.

Wesley And Mike Had A Birthday!

Wesley turned 10!

His favorite gift was his jumping stilts!
For his birthday we went to a trampoline park.
He was able to invite Brody to The Pizza Pie Café.
We sure love Wesley! He loves to play with his cousins, especially Brody. He loves to read and can often be found walking around reading. He likes video games, and creating things out of anything he can find. He is pretty quite and doesn't seem to love hugs and kisses, unless they are from Vivian, who doesn't love to give them to him. However he does snuggle up next to you if you don't make a big deal out of it. I don't think he even realizes he is doing it! He is a pretty big tease and loves to drive his sisters and brother crazy!
Happy Birthday Wes, we love you!
Mike turned 42 this year!

It is always hard finding Mike gifts. He will never tell me what he wants! So I have to guess, and I am not the best gift giver!
We sure love Mike! He is the best dad, and has the most patience! He always lets the kids help him, from working in the yard to making cookies. He is really good at spread sheets and writing up reports! He likes to play board games and spend time with his family. We are the luckiest to have him, because he is the best! Love you Mike.

Torn Achilles

I had a late night soccer game on the 9th. After half time we were playing, I was standing all by myself and the ball came to me, I went to run and BAM tore my Achilles. Just like that! Fell on my face, screamed, and cried! It was pretty sucky.
Joy took me to Mckay Dee Hospital after the game. It was pretty obvious that it was torn. They braced it for me, gave me some heavy duty pain killer, and said someone would contact me the next day for an MRI.
The next day Mike called to set up an appointment with a surgeon. They told him to bring me in right then. I thought I was getting an MRI, I guess Dr. Goucher had a cancellation and he came out and looked at it and said "Yep, its torn. Let's do surgery."
10 minutes later I was prepped and ready to go.
It was kind of nice that I didn't have a lot of time to think about it and worry.
The kids loved all my new accessories!
I had to go in to get it recast before our trip to Yellowstone. It was driving me crazy! The pain really wasn't that bad, but having that half cast was the worst!
Yellowstone was interesting. Driving in the car for hours kind of sucked. I still had a fun time.
On the 28th I got the cast off! Hallelujah!

I also got to go to the store, or anywhere for the first time since my surgery!

And got a boot on, which also drove me crazy but at least I could take it off!
I wore the boot for a little over a month. I was able to wean out of it the second week of December.
I was able to wear shoes for the first time on December 3, and got my stitches out!I did some physical therapy. It is now the beginning of January. It is still sore to touch. Ankle socks and shoes really bother it. I still limp around, but I can tell that it is getting better, and I can kind of flex my calf muscle now! So that's good.
