Spring Catch Up

I had to add these pictures of Vivian's cute pigtails.
She loves to read books.
She also loves hats, bags, coats, babies, and holding all those things and the same time!

She's so cute she deserves her own post...but this isn't it.
We've had a lot of movie nights watching all the Harry Potters.
On this particular night Wes had the stomach flu.
St. Patricks day was on a Saturday. Wesley did his usual and set traps to catch a leprechaun. Well, this year he caught one!
He set up his camera and caught our leprechaun in action, placing his/her little green footprints on the glass and leaving a delicious treat.  This wasn't the first time he has tried to catch someone on a holiday, on Christmas he got pretty close to catching Santa also.  We almost deleted the video, but figured he deserved to see it for all his hard work setting the traps and camera.  They were a little surprised but happy to learn that our leprechaun loves us very much and fell right into his trap.  Thank you Grandma Lou-Lou for taking care of us!
Wesley earned his Bobcat badge. His very first scouting badge.
For Wesley's third term project he did an animal report. He chose to do the Orca Whale, he did such a good job. All the parents were invited to come and ask questions about their animals.
Hopefully now I am all caught up.

Race Day and Visiting Grandma Allred

This was our second year running the Goldenwest Credit Union 5k. All the money goes to the school and if we finish the race Goldenwest gives more money to the school.
It was a little windy, but I would take the wind over the rain any day!
As we were headed over to the starting line we ran into Spencer, Blake, and Mckay.
It was nice having running buddies.
After awhile Mckay, Jaycee and Spencer decided we were too slow.
Poor Wes was having problems with his legs again, just like last year only it started in the first mile this year instead of the last mile.

We had fun, and we beat last years time! That's what counts right?
Later that night we went down to visit Grandma Allred. She was doing really good, and loved seeing the kids. After visiting with Grandma we went over to the Provo Aquatic Center.
 The kids loved it!

We are ready for warm weather and more water fun!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I am pretty much the luckiest girl ever! Mike is the best, and he always makes me feel special.
This year for my birthday he took me to a Jazz Game!
We went a few days early, on the 15th. They played the Suns and won!
We even got silly stringed by the Bear.
Even more celebrating on my birthday!
Mike took me to the movie "I Can Only Imagine", it was so good!
Then we went to lunch at Cafe Zupas. One of my favorite places.
We also did a little shopping while we were out.
Did I say that Mike is the best? Because he is!
When the kids got home from school I got to open presents.
For dinner Mike went and picked up Bajio's and Crispy Cream Donuts.
To end the night my parents took me and my sisters to the movie "Tomb Raider". It was pretty good.
Turning 36 was pretty awesome!

Jordan River Temple Openhouse

Hey there blog viewers, hope you are doing well.  I was invited to write this post by the Creator of this blog.  She is a very special lady!  I love you Chelsea and love the time and effort you put into recording the important events in our lives.  On March 19th we had an opportunity to attend the Jordan River Temple Open House.  We always try to make time in our busy lives to attend open houses when they are nearby.
In a temple open house, they start off with a video about why we build temples and why they are important to members of the Church and everyone.  They then begin the silent tour of the temple, with signs indicating what each room is used for.
Having an opportunity to see the font area, the chapel, the sealing rooms, endowment rooms, and the celestial room is neat for the family.  We always tell the kids to pay attention to how they feel and what they liked to see.  The answer by the little ones is always the swimming pool (font).  Jaycee always loves the chandeliers.  And it makes them feel happy when they are in the temple.
As you exit the temple there is an area to see a statute of Christ and ask any questions to missionaries.  The temple is a very big part of our lives, we not only go there to feel peace and comfort, and feel close to heaven...but also a big part of our purpose in attending the temple is to link families together by completing ordinances for those who have passed on without the opportunity of being baptized or sealed to their families.  One of the neatest open houses I have attended was the Philadelphia temple open house a couple a years ago.  Because the crowds are not as large as Utah open house temples as you go into each room you sit and someone shares their thoughts/testimony of what happens in each area.  In the Celestial room they invite you to sit and think about God, it was a very neat experience.
Hopefully the kids will understand our love for and dedication to being involved in temple work.  With the recent conference announcement, we will get the opportunity to attend another open house in Layton Utah in the coming years.  We decided to spend a little more time together and go out to eat at Chili's.  We love to see the temple, the beauty, peace, comfort, love, and unity that can be felt there is priceless.

Grandpa Allred

My Grandpa Allred passed away on March 6th.
His funeral was on Friday the 9th.
It was a good service. My Uncle Art, and both my Aunt Char and Paulette spoke, along with one of their home teachers. The great grand kids sang Gethsemane. My mom gave a prayer.
It was neat to hear so many stories about my Grandpa. He could fix anything and would help everyone. I am so lucky to have had him in my life for so long.
There was a 21 gun salute. Bensen did not love that.

While we were at the cemetery we were able to hunt down my Grandpa Fox's grave.
After the graveside we went back to my grandparents church and had lunch.
I sure love my Grandpa Allred, I'm so glad me and my kids were able to have him in our lives.

Disney On Ice

We are planning a surprise trip to Disneyland this summer.  We haven't told the kids yet, they know we are going to the Redwoods, but that is all.
We were a little worried that the kids wouldn't really know anything Mickey Mouse, so they have been watching some Disney channel, and Mickey shows.
Mike decided to surprise the kids and go see Disney on Ice.
Apparently there are different Disney On Ice's and we went to the more girly one, but all the kids still loved it.
We had great seats, and the kids did great.
I was a little worried about Vivian, but she loved it.

Now Jaycee wants to take an aerial silks class. I even went so far as to look for classes for her to take. There are not many classes near us, and the ones that are here also teach pole dancing. So I think we will hold off on the aerial silk class for now.
