CANCER

We found out a month or so ago that my mom has cancer.  Plasma cell myeloma is what it's called, basically it makes tumors that grow in/on her bones and breaks them. It is incurable and life expectancy is 2-10 years.  They are hoping, with her being younger then the normal person that gets this cancer, that they will be able to treat her more aggressively. This type of cancer is rare and usually causes kidney failure.
In November she was having rib pain but couldn't remember doing anything to hurt them. Theirs not much you can do for a broken rib but give it time, and so she did.  In February when it was still hurting her they did an x-ray and found that she had two tumors. So this is how we found out she had cancer.  After a lot of tests and scans they found that she has tumors from her head down to her feet.
She started Chemo on May 17th and because she has so many health problems (tracheotomy, acid reflex stuff) she has to stay in the hospital so they can monitor her carefully.  It's hard because she is at the U of U hospital, kind of far away, and we all have kids that can't go to the hospital.  So I've only been to see her twice.  We take turns watching each others kids so we all get the chance to be with her.  She's been doing fairly well, they have her pretty drugged up. She's hoping they will let her come home in the next week or two for about a week, then she'll have to go back for stem cell injections and more chemo. Yuck!
She has had the best outlook and has been really positive. I think she's just happy to finally know what is wrong with her.  She's been in so much pain for so long.
Anyway, cancer sucks!

Wesleys Room

When we first moved into our house I told Mike I wanted to paint on the walls, he told me I had to wait a year.  Well, it's been a year! So Wes now has stuff painted on his walls! We moved into our house when he was 7 months old.  When we first moved in I decided I wanted to do Monkeys.  I couldn't find any bedding that I loved but I did find a blanket that I loved so the room is based off of the blanket.  Which I didn't take a picture of.  I started on one wall, I tried drawing with a pencil first and it was horrible! I guess I'm a better painter then drawer so I free handed the first wall.

My very talented sister in law came over and painted the cute little monkeys. I didn't dare try.
Then I added some leaves and a bird.
I wanted a tree in the corner.  For this one I borrowed my father-in-laws projector and traced the tree silhouette. I added the curly end to match the other wall.

Then it just need leaves a couple birds and a monkey.  I did paint that one myself. And I'm pretty proud of it. :)
I'm really happy with the way things turned out.  I still need to finish the birds on the big tree and I think I am going to put some little birds standing on the closet.

Happy Easter...

a little late. We had a really good Easter.  We were able to make it to the Hooper city Easter egg hunt.
We actually made it in time this year and they made out like bandits! Sunday was wonderful. First things first the kids needed to find their baskets.  That tricky bunny is a really good hider! It was interesting trying to explain the resurrection to Jaycee, I think she kind of gets it. Hopefully.
Look at my cute kids!
After church we were able to go to Mikes house for linner and a hunt.
Wesley makes this funny face all the time.  Especially when he is trying to tell us something and we have no idea what he wants.
My sweet girl.
Then over to my house for dinner and a hunt.
In the above picture Wesley and Brody are running away.  Not fond of group pictures.
This is about 5 o'clock with no nap! He dropped about 10 minutes later
We really have the best families around.
