Jaycee's Farewell

Oh man, this came too fast! Jaycee had her farewell today. She did so good on her talk, she amazes me everyday! She practiced so much, then this morning she said, I'm just going to ready my paper. I told her that would be fine. She didn't, she looked up a lot, I never would have guessed she was nervous!
I made it through her whole talk without crying, then Viv turns to me and says "Are you going to cry?" I said no, the hardest part is over. The she said, "No, the hardest part is letting her go!" I lost it! I started crying, hen Viv started crying because I was crying. I pulled myself together and then I told Mike what she said, then he was crying...then we were all crying again! All the while Jaycee is looking at us like we are crazy!. It was a really good day. I am so grateful for all who showed support and love to Jaycee! She really is the best.

Back At It

🎶Back to life, back to reality!🎶
Our vacation was so fun, be we sure missed our kids! It was nice jumping back into being parents. High school lacrosse games started last week! We loved getting to watch Wesley play! He scored his first varsity goal on March 6th! I am a little sad we don't get to watch Jaycee play this year. She gets set apart as a missionary in 3 weeks! We did her nails on Sunday. On Monday Bensen got to play the piano for a nursing home to help with Family Home Evening. Both me and Mike got to volunteer in Viv's class on Friday for our last rendezvous. She was the cutest little mountain woman. On the 7th me and Mike went and rode bikes at Antelope Island. Vivian and Bensen's lacrosse games started today! They did great!
I love lacrosse season!

Day 11-Rome

We were off the boat by 8 o'clock, ready to come home! But we had one more day in Rome. We decided to go to St. Peter's Basilica. We spent over 3 hours there, we saw all the things, climbed 551 stairs to the dome...and back down, then went to the Grotto (Pope crypt). By this time we are pretty hungry, we ate at a place called Homebaked. It was delicious...and it was America food ran by an American. I think we have had more pasta this week then should be legal! We headed to our room to check in. By the time we got settled in, it was about 4:30. I was ready to be done for the day, but Mike was not! We decided to give the Pantheon another try...remember last time it closed early. This time we made it and finished up around dusk. Then we decided to go see everything in the dark! We saw the back of the Pantheon, Obelisk of the Minerva, Vittoriano, the Roman Forum from the street, the Colosseum, the Ark of Constantine, the Mouth of Truth (which was locked up), a couple of bridges, Castel Sant'Angelo, and St. Peter's Basilica. Because why not?! I am so glad we went back out! We had a lot of fun! We walked over 20,000 steps today!😅Now we are definitely ready to come home!
