We love our trips to Huntington Lake. This year we went into Capital Reef for a drive. We saw some petroglyphs and the Little Grand Canyon. Definitely worth the drive! It was fun taking Penny along on the trip, she did not love the water.

Boys Backpacking Trip
Since Wesley is now in young mens we had the opportunity to go on a high adventure trip in July. We did a 3 day, 2 night backpacking trip in the high Uintahs. We started at the Crystal Lake trail head and hiked in about 4 miles, stopping at a lake on the way for some fishing. At this lake Wesley was the only one to catch anything. He caught a flipper! After the stop for fishing we headed the rest of the way to the camp site, found a good spot to set up camp and pitched our tent. We made some lunch and Wesley took a nap. We made dinner, had a fireside and went to bed. Day 2 was spent hiking to various lakes, doing a little fishing with no success, playing cards, visiting, trail hiking, filtering water, and cooking more backpacking meals. All the meals were ok except for the Chili mac, in fact it became a expression we can use for trials in our life, "Chili Mac happens." The favorite was by far the fettuccini alfredo. Day 3 we made some oatmeal, packed up our bags and hiked out. Wesley did awesome, he was the first one to reach the parking lot...and he picked up the flipper he caught on day one, and hauled it back to the parking lot. We learned we need to buy lighter supplies and figure out a better sleep system. It was a fun trip, and beautiful views everywhere.

Camping up North Fork
We took the trailer up North Fork for a few days. We have gone up South Fork serval times, this was our first time up North Fork.
Amber took me and Jaime up to ride our bikes a couple of weeks ago, we love it and decided to try and camp.
We found great spots right by the river.
We went on a fun, very steep hike.
The kids spent most of their time in the little river. We played some Pounce. Me, Jaime, and Amber had to come home Friday night for our soccer game. On our way back up we saw an amazing sunset! All the fires this year has made for some spectacular sunsets.

Huntington Lake 2020
We have loved our trips to Huntington, this year was no different! The first day we got there Matts brother Spencer was there with his little boat that he built. A couple people went out for a ride.
It is so nice for the kids to get to be together doing the things that they love!
Really the love just being together.
This was the first year we walked around the lake. I think it was about 3 miles, all the kids did great. We did end up with Viv on our shoulders toward the end of the walk.
We always enjoy the amazing sunset at Huntington.
On our walk Wesley and Colton picked up a baby bird. Unfortunately we didn't realize they had it until we were already back and they couldn't remember exactly where they picked it up, so we couldn't take it back. We put it back where they think they found it. We are going to say the mom found it and it is doing well.
These kids really could live on the water! Bensen, Vivian, and Branson loved the tube this year!
We drove into town to this cute little restaurant I don't remember the name, but it was good.
Wes caught a crawdad.
The guys all went Golfing. Mike says it was fun, and it looks like the coarse was a little tricky.
We had a great time, I'm grateful I get to spend time with my family.
