Wesley's Blessing

We had Wesley's blessing yesterday. It was such a good day. The blessing he got was so good. I can hardly wait to see the blessings come true. Wesley is such a good baby. He's almost always happy. He very smiley. He sleeps pretty good. We are very blessed. We love him so much, I don't remember how we lived without him. Jaycee's been sick with croup, so we've been trying to keep her away from him, not the easiest thing to do. She is always worried about him, she has to know where he is at all times. It's pretty cute. I'm pretty sure I have the cutest kids in the world.

Update on the house. We have a foundation...yay! They should start framing in the next week or so. It all depends on the weather, so I wouldn't blame them if they didn't work on it. I wouldn't go out in this wind. Burr!!

Sleeping Beauties

So I'm averaging about one post a month, that's pretty good compared to some...right?
I took this cute picture this morning of the kids and thought it was blog worthy. I don't always let them in bed with me, but sometimes when Mike has already gone to work and it's cold, and I'm lazy they get to sleep in our bed. They slept in late which was nice, I was able to get up and get ready. That hardly ever happens. Wesley was sitting up on my pillow when I went to get ready, when I came back in the room he had slid down next to Jaycee. I swear, I have the cutest kids in the world. If only they were always so cute and peaceful. I think it's funny how they are sleeping in the same position. Anyway, I just had to post this picture.
We got what I consider to be good news today. They are going to start digging the hole for the house on Monday! I am super excited, Mike is a little nervous. He was hoping for a little more time to save, I just want in. We've been keeping a pretty close watch on some of the houses going up in our neighborhood. Two of them are the same house plan as ours. It's been fun to see how fast they build them. We seriously make the trip out to Hooper at least once a week. I can't wait until we can actually see our house. That I'm sure will be much more exciting. I'll make sure to put some pictures up as soon as I get them.
Oh yeah, one more thing...Happy Thanksgiving!

New House

Well, we spent the whole day yesterday, I'm talking 8 hours, picking out colors for our house. Some people might think this sounds fun...it was not fun. Me and Mike are so indecisive, and there were a lot of decisions to make. I don't have much of an eye for decorating so picking color to go together was hard. Anyway, it's nice to have it all done. Hopefully we like what we picked and that it all looks good together...I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
These are not the best pictures, but we tried.

Welcome Wesley

Well he's finally here!! He was born October 1 at 4:13 weighing in at 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. It was an experience! Different from the first. With Jaycee, labor was a breeze. Wesley was a whole other story. Things started off pretty normal. When I got to the hospital my contractions were 7 minutes apart. I got my epidural around 11. It was an intern that did it and she had to do it twice, painful. Around 12 o'clock I was still in quite a bit of pain so I got another epidural, which worked really well for a couple of hours. It wore off way faster than I wanted. I kept telling the nurse I was in pain, they gave me a lot of medicine, I shouldn't have been able to feel anything. However I was feeling a lot. Mike went and got the nurse, she checked me and I was ready. They called the Dr and about 5 minutes later she was there and I was pushing. After the second push my Dr. said "That's weird!" And I said "What's weird!?!" The cord was wrapped around his little neck. After that it was a blur. The Dr. kept telling me he was fine, I looked over at him and the nurses were doing CPR on his little body. I had a lot of family in with me and everyone was so quiet. It was very scary to see him just laying there not moving or making any noise. The Dr. kept assuring me he was fine. Finally we heard him make a little cry. I got to hold him for about 10 seconds and then he was whisked away to the NICU. Mike was able to go with him. They came back about 5 minutes later and said he was doing really good, breathing on his own, but they wanted to keep him and watch him for a couple hours. Mike was able to take our family member in to see him two at a time. I was the last to get to see him and it was about 2 hours after he was born. When I finally got to see him he was doing so good, I got to hold him. He is so perfect.
I am so grateful to be his mom. I am truly blessed. I think if any of the medicine had worked and I was numb I wouldn't have known when he was ready. Things happened so fast. If it had taken them any longer then it did I don't know if we would have our little guy today. Truly Blessed. He's so perfect.

On another note, Mike turned 32 on the 11th. So happy birthday Mike! I love you.

Also we are going to be moving to Hooper! Not for another 5 to 6 months, but it's nice knowing what we have to look forward to. We are really excited. And scared at the same time. We've had a busy couple of weeks.:)

House Update

Well, we put an offer in with Nelson Homes to build us a house! We offered pretty low of what they wanted...so now we just wait to see what they say. Scary stuff. Hopefully we will know on Monday weather they accepted our offer or not. Pretty exciting! If all goes to plan we could have a new house by the middle of March of beginning of April. Yeah!
On another note, I am completely in love with the weather we are having. I recently bought a rocker for outside. It's my new favorite thing to do. I could sit out there all day. Me and Mike usually go for a drive around this time every year, because I love to look at the leaves. Hopefully we will get to this year and take some more family pics, and get Jaycee and Wesley (yes, we decided on a name) in their Halloween costumes.
Anyway, the next time I post I'll have another kid! How crazy is that? And we will know about the house. So stay tuned...:)

Just an Update

We still have no idea if we are going to build or buy...we are leaning more towards building. Which is great! I would love to have a brand new house that didn't need something fixed every other week. That just means we live in the basement a little longer. Not so sure how the parents will feel about that. But then again, if it wasn't us, I'm sure it would be someone else. :)
On top of having no house, both of our cars decided to die. So we bought a 2005 Malibu, and they gave us $500 for my car that hardly worked, which they also lost. They told Mike to drive it down on Sunday and leave the keys in it...so he did, and now they can't find it. Their loss. I'm pretty happy with the Malibu, I hardly ever get to drive it because Mike takes it to work...I guess that is important. :) We took our other car to a mechanic, Mike says it might be there for a while. Hopefully it's not to expensive to fix. So the good news is we do have one working vehicle.
I went to the Dr. yesterday and scheduled my delivery for October 1 at 7:00 a.m. I'm pretty excited about that. It's nice to have a day and time. Now I feel like there really is an end, and there will be a reward at the end! 20 MORE DAYS!!

Sold

For the most part everyone already knows that our house sold. Just thought I'd make it official. We are now living in my parents basement. Which is a little bit weird...I am extremely grateful for my parents generosity and for them letting us stay here so we can save a little bit more money. We still aren't exactly sure what we are going to do now...we are thinking of building. Nothing feels right yet. So time will tell.
The last time I went to the Dr. she said we would be having the baby around the first of October. I am super excited. I even bought the little guy a cute little pumpkin costume for his first Halloween. Which I am also super excited for. It will be a little sad, I won't have anywhere to put all my cute Halloween stuff. Oh well, I'm sure I'll live.
One last thing, why isn't anyone blogging anymore...I feel so alone. hint hint.

Sell Pending

Well, so much for July going by slower!! Not that I've been doing anything really productive. We got an offer on our house on the 20th! We are hoping all goes well and they go through with it, we are still waiting for an appraisal. Which was supposed to happen sometime this week, we'll see. We are staying optimistic. We've been packing up some of our stuff that we never use, like everything in the basement and garage. Anyway, not much is happening with us other then the whole house thing. I can't believe how fast this summer is going by. It's already August, how crazy is that! I am now almost 30 weeks pregnant, so 9 weeks left, since my Dr. said we could go at least one week early. We still don't have a name picked out. Maybe that is something we should start working on.

What happened to June???

I don't know about anyone else, but June just flew by me! We had a lot of stuff to do and it was all so close together, and now I don't even remember all we had to do. I remember I had a Primary Quarterly Activity, which always stresses me out. We had a family reunion, which me and my sister-in-law Sarah were in charge of. Again, stressful! Then we had a big birthday party for Jaycee, which was also a little stressful, getting the house clean and making food enough to feed over 40 people, and still making it fun for Jaycee. We had all this and more in less then two weeks. So I spent to first part of June stressing the last part of June.
I am now almost 26 weeks pregnant, with a boy! We still don't have a name picked out. So far we like Wesley and Jeramie. We are open to suggestions if anyone has any.
We are trying to sell our house. The first couple of weeks we had a lot of calls. It's kind-of died down in the last two week. It could have something to do with the neighbors house selling. Not as many people are coming into our cul-de-sac. Oh well, if it happens it happens. Anyway, I'm planning on really enjoying July.

Happy Birthday Jaycee!!

I know I've said it a million times, but man does time fly!! Jaycee turned two this week, how crazy is that? My baby is two. Jaycee is so much fun. She loves to play in the water and because of that we gave her a pool party. We pretty much did the same thing we did last year only this time Jaycee really had a lot of fun. She was the first one in the pool and the last one out. It was pretty funny, her cousin splashed her in the face and she started to fake cry (only it sounded real) and when her cousin came to see if she was ok she started laughing...they did this for another 15 minutes. She's turning into a little jokester. She loves to tease people...especially if they want kisses. She really makes you work for her kisses. I love Jaycee and I am so grateful that I get to be her mom. She makes me and Mike so happy. We are lucky to have her.

Jaycee's Big Girl Bed!!

About two weeks ago, after visiting my brothers house and seeing that his one year old was in a toddler bed, we decided to turn Jaycee's crib into a bed. Let me tell you, I was pretty nervous! I have heard some stories. We figured if she wouldn't stay in, we could always turn the open side to the wall. Anyway, she has done sooo good! She hasn't once tried to get out. In the morning I have to go get her out of bed. She even does nap time good. I was truly amazed at how well she has done. Way to go Jaycee!! My mom keeps telling me "Just wait until she realized she can get out on her own." One morning I was in the living room and could hear she was awake, it took me about ten minutes of telling her to "come here" before she finally did. I think she just likes for me to go tell her good morning.:)

Regulator's...Mount Up!!

So today at work I had to regulate!! Let me start at the beginning. So for some odd reason kids love to fight in front of the attendance office? I'm not exactly sure why? They must not know that there is a camera in that area because all the fights are caught on tape. Anyway, about two months ago there was a fight between these two huge kids. I mean these kids were monstrously big!! I was a little caught off guard, I ran back into the hall to find an administrator, which there were none back there. So I just kind of sat there and watched. Then this very pregnant teacher comes up and stopped the fight! I was very impressed, and felt pretty stupid at the same time because I just hid out in my office and did nothing.
So today this little girl started screaming and pushing this other little girl, then she moved on to another little girl. They were swinging at each other and pushing! (I don't actually think anyone made any contact)But I'll have you know I walked out of my office and stopped the fight! I had to grab the one girl 3 times! Because she kept getting away from me. And the best part is, my whole heroic deed was on camera, so I got to watch it. Pretty fun. The girl that started the fight was not as impressed that the whole thing was on camera, she of course was suspended.
Lucky for me they were just tiny little girls and the one that started it didn't seem too mad at me. After all was said and done and she was suspended she had to come sit with me for about twenty minutes waiting for her parents to come get her. She didn't try to hit me or anything, so I took that as a good sign!:)
So that was my crazy day I can't wait to tell Margie! It got the adrenaline pumping, I even started sweating a little bit. So I don't even feel a little bad about sitting on the couch and watching t.v. all night because that's the biggest work out I've had in a while.:) It's just too bad I don't have the video to go along with the story. Oh well.

Happy Easter

Our First Easter 2006

Happy Easter everyone. I love Easter. Getting together with family, having egg hunts. For those of you who don't know, I'm pregnant. I've been trying to figure out a cute way to tell people and I just can't think of anything. I am 14 weeks and have been extremely sick. Extremely sick for me anyway. So now I'm going to brag about how wonderful my husband is...since I've been sick Mike does a lot of extra stuff, like clean, cook and go grocery shopping. So he went shopping last night at like 9:00 pm. He got all the Easter stuff, he even put Jaycee's Easter basket together (outfit included). He did such a good job. All this was at the end of the day, earlier that same day he installed a new water heater. He is amazing. I sure am lucky! Love you Mike:)

Remodeling part II

As promised, here are some more of our remodeling pictures. The first couple are of Jaycee's room, which Mike finished just before she came.

It got a new paint job and new molding, crown included. Then I painted the wood flowers, butterflies and hearts.

My sister Joy (with the help of Jaime) surprised me with her name when I got home. I knew she was working on it, I didn't know it was done. They put it up while I was at the hospital. Our house gets super hot in the summer. I remember people telling me how hot it was, so I was glad to be in the nice air conditioned hospital. Anyway when they came over to put it up the power had gone out, so they couldn't turn on the swamp cooler and it was very dark. So they got it put up in candle light, because at the time we didn't have flashlights. So kudos to my wonderful sisters!

Now on to the Basement. We realized we had a leak when I went to do laundry and at the bottom of the stairs was soaking wet!! So Mike and his dad went to work, they found we had a pretty good sized crack in our foundation.

Not long after that I moved a coffee table I had pushed up against the wall under this window to find that it was all moldy. So when Mike tore this wall apart we found a pipe coming into the house which wasn't sealed. So we had water coming in there also.

And now for the after pictures. When we started we had no idea that we would be doing the whole basement. It just ended up this way. Which we are glad of now, at the time it was a pain. We really enjoy it now. It's nice to have everything nice and new. So here is the new kitchen downstairs. Oh ya....the basement also got new french doors, and all new windows.

The only thing that stayed was this brick wall and the fireplace. The basement got new molding, lighting, wiring, plumbing, windows, doors, cupboards, sink, counter tops and tile.

So part III will have to be our room which Mike just finished and the bathroom. I'm having a hard time finding my pictures of the bathroom. I remember taking them, now I just have to find them.:) Now we have the inside all done. If only the outside looked as nice as the inside!! Does it ever end??

Remodeling

Well, we've been doing some remodeling, and I never posted any pictures. Mike has done such a good job on our house so now I'm going to post some of his wonderful work:) And I'm working backwards. The Living room was his last project, then the kitchen. Later I'll post the bathroom, Jaycee's room and the basement.

Notice the molding around the window's and the floor is gone.

I did help a little with the painting. I'm not completely useless:)

The finished living room. I'd been bugging Mike for a shelf forever. He did such a good job!

Now we have nice new moldings!

Now onto the kitchen/hallway. He started off tiling, which we ran all the way down the hallway. The hallway carpet was always dirty!!

Jaycee was so tired of living in a dusty dirty house, she took matters into her own hands.

She even got to help a little with them demo in the kitchen. She followed Mike around, whenever I would let her, coping everything he did. She is such a daddy's girl.

In these pictures, the tile is done and the walls are just waiting for their turn.

The finished kitchen. Only that wall is blue, the rest are the same color as the living room. I failed to take pictures of the rest. Probably because it is never clean enough to take pictures of...

That it for now. Like I said he has done such a good job! Now he's ready to build us a whole new house...right? Now he has fixed every room in the house except for our room, and I think he's planning on doing it within the next month or so. So if you know anyone looking to buy a house send them our way. Our house is practically new now...and we'll give you a good deal:)

I am sooo ready for Spring already!!:)

Happy Valentines!!

We had such a great Valentines Day! We took Jaycee to the Clark Planitarum with some of Mikes family, to see "Under the Sea" in 3D. I really liked it Jaycee wouldn't wear the glasses, so she didn't get the whole affect. But it was really good. Then me and Mike went to the Junction and saw "New in Town" which was also good. We had a really good day.

On another note, we've been working with Jaycee on using to potty. She actually does really well. She goes almost everytime we put her up there. But she never tells us when she has to go. We just have to watch her and try to catch her before she goes. Anyway it so funny when you tell her to push she does this really overexaggerated push. I tried to get it on camera and this is what I got...

Sleep Over

I'm going to do the whole Holiday post next time. My sister Amber and her husband went to Mexico in the early part of December and we got to watch Mae for a couple of days while they were gone. Jaycee loved having a friend around all the time. They had so much fun, when they weren't fighting over toys. But I would have to say they had the most fun in the bath tub. I got a really good video of them that I just had to post. Enjoy!
