Easter! And Picture Overload

The kids had there first hunt with South Weber City.
They got so much candy! This was our F.H.E for the night.
On Friday the kids dyed Easter eggs. Bensen even attempted to eat one. It was so funny. He took a bite then said "It has a banana inside of it, that's funny!" We did not correct him, he also didn't finish it. But at least he tried something new.
On Saturday we went to the Wendell's Easter Egg hunt. They did a BBQ then the hunt. It was a lot of fun!
Oh my goodness, even more candy!
I woke up before everybody on Easter so I decided to hurry and jump in the shower. I guess I wasn't fast enough because when I got out everyone was waiting for me.
The Easter Bunny had the kids all stumped this year. He gets trickier and trickier every year.

Vivian loved the twix in her basket.

Since we were all up and ready pretty early I decided we needed to take some fun Easter pictures.
Out by the peach tree was a great spot, but the kids were having a hard time keeping their eyes open with the bright sun.

So we came on the other side of the pine trees in the shade...perfection!

After church we headed over to the Baileys for ANOTHER HUNT! and BBQ.

These kids have enough candy to last for years! I guess it's time to throw out the old Halloween, Christmas, and Valentines candy.
After we headed over to the Borgstroms and guess what??? More hunting!
I love that we get to get together so often.
I am grateful for my Savior and for the resurrection. I know that through Jesus Christ all things are possible, and that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again, and be resurrected. I hope our kids will remember what we have taught them concerning Jesus and the resurrection.

Piano Recital

The kids had a piano recital on March 30th.
This was Wesleys first recital. They were both a little nervous, but they both did great!
They had their songs memorized and everything.

Wesley played Star Wars and From a Wigwam.
Jaycee played Tomorrow and Aloutte.
After the recital we went to Warrens for dinner and ice cream. Sarah and the kids came (Sidney was also in the recital) and Grandma LouLou.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I turned 35! How did I get so old? :) It's funny, 35 doesn't feel or seem that old.
I've had my drivers licence for over half of my life! A while ago one of my young women told me she thought I was a really good driver and asked how I got so good. I told her I had been driving for longer then she had been alive. So I guess to her I am pretty old.
My day fell on a Monday this year. I got to go volunteer at the school in both Jaycee and Wesley's classes. Then Mike took me to the movie "The Shack", and to do a little shopping. We made it home in time to get the kids off the bus and do homework, then we went to dinner at Garcia's.
Yum! I had a really good day!
A couple of days ago Wesley came home and told me he needed to run in a race. It was a 5k and all the money paid was matched my Goldenwest Credit Union and 100% of the proceeds went to their school. He really wanted to do it, so we signed up.
We even got Jaycee to come along with us.
There's nothing like running in the rain with some of my best friends. We had fun and the kids both did so good. Wesley's foot and leg started hurting in the last mile, so we had to slow down a bit, but he pushed on and finished strong.
Bensen even joined us to cross the finish line!
I'm so proud of them and I am so glad I am their mom.

Home Improvements

Mike has a pretty long list of thing he wants to do on the house. In the last couple of months he has been busy getting some things checked off of his/my list.
The laundry room was at the top of the list.
He put up some extra hooks so we don't have jackets, coats and snow things strewn about.

He gave me a tall cupboard for laundry baskets and extra storage, a shelf, a hanging bar, and more storage! Now the kids each have their own hook and a cubby, so they should never need to leave anything laying on the ground! Apparently they have far too many jackets and coats, because we still get jackets and backpacks on the ground!
I can tell you I have been much better at getting the laundry washed, dried, and folded. I work better when things are more organized.
I hate doing laundry, but I love my new laundry room.
The next project was our bedroom. In all the houses we have lived in we have never really decorated our bedroom. In Hooper we hung a couple of pictures so it looked better when we listed it to sell it. I have hated our bedspread since we bought it when we got married. So it was time for a new one.
It is amazing what a couple things on the wall and a new bedspread will do to a room! I love it, and I love my cute kids that like to play on a newly made bed.
Mike also finished the upstairs bathroom, and built a fire pit that we won't be able to use for a while, (that is a long different story) but I don't have pictures of those.
He also started framing the basement this last week, for the kids bedroom.
Mike is amazing!

A Little March Madness

We've been having a lot of fun this March. Don't let the snow in the first picture fool you, it has been so nice, warm and beautiful. The kids have loved playing outside.
March 2 was Dr. Seuss Day, so we have a Star Bellied Sneetch and the Lorax.
Then on March 3 we went to a Jazz game. They were the free tickets we got because the kids played Jr. Jazz.
We bought Bensen a ticket, then had second thoughts about taking him. We asked him if he would rather stay at Sarah's house or go to the game, he chose Sarah's house. We figured Grandpa Max would enjoy the game so we brought him along.
We had a lot of fun, and they won. I wish we could watch the Jazz games. They don't come on TV, you have to have a special channel, which we don't have. I have a lot of  good memories of watching Jazz games. Wes has an old Chicago Bulls hat that was Mikes when he was little, and he wears it around. I told him we needed to get him a Jazz hat and he said, "Who are they?" Sad. We need to remedy that quick!
We were also able to go and celebrate Rylee's birthday. We ate at Olive Garden then we headed over to Weber State to do some bowling.
We had such a great time! It's always fun to spend time with family.
On St. Patrick's Day we had a visit from our leprechaun. Wesley set a trap and I think he almost caught him this year. In the end he was able to make off with the fake gold he tried to bait him with. Better luck next year Wes.
We all got decked out in green. Mike took me a movie, we went and saw "Beauty and the Beast". It was pretty good. They didn't stray far from the cartoon version.
I liked it, but I like most movies. :)
