Mike has taken Jaycee and Wesley skiing a few time this year on our get out passes. They have loved it! Our neighbors the Ulrich's told Mike that you can get cheap tickets at Nordic Valley if you purchase them online in advance. So we got tickets for $19. In hind sight we shouldn't have bought me a ticket, because me and Mike didn't ski at the same time.
Mike took everyone but Viv up at 10. He worked with Bensen while Jaycee and Wesley went off by themselves. Me and Viv came up a little later, Viv went to school for an hour. I picked her up, stopped at Burger King and headed up to Nordic. When I got there Bensen thought he was done! After lunch we got him going again. Both me and Mike spent some time with Bensen and Vivian. Mike did a good job with Bensen, he was doing so good! After a bit Mike even got Bensen on the lift! He didn't love that! Then Mike went and skied with Jaycee and Wesley for a little while. Vivian was loving it, and would have continued to go all night! Bensen was done though, after every run he wanted to go back to the car to get a drink. Which is no easy feat, especially with two kids in ski boots. We went back to the car around 2:30, Mike came down and switched me and I took 1 run!
It was my first time skiing in about 20 years! I'm not going to lie, I was pretty nervous. I don't even have a ski coat! Lucky for me it was pretty warm and my hoodie worked just fine. Getting on the lift was fine, I couldn't remember how to get off. It all worked out, and we were off.
We got to a point where we could continue down the mountain or head over to the new lift that takes you to the top of the mountain. I tried to convince the kids we should just continue down, my legs and feet were dying, but Wesley really wanted to go to the new lift. We headed that way. I was so slow, and I would pull off to the side to let all the crazy good little kids fly past me! We made it to the new lift, it is a big 6 seater. Once we get sitting down Wesley tried to scoot over a little closer to me and some how it pulled him down, so I was holding onto him telling him to pull himself up, which he obviously couldn't do with his ski's and boots on. So I told him we were going to drop him once we got to the lowest spot. He was only hanging for a couple of seconds then I threw him off, it was about 8 feet high or so. I yelled to him that we would wait for him at the top. I was pretty worried that he wouldn't get back on, especially by himself, but he did! He is a trooper. We were having fun slowly making our way down, Wesley was messing around and somehow hit himself in the face with his pole!
It was an eventful last run! Mike was surprised at all our excitement. He said he had them all day and no one got hurt! All in all we had a good time. I would go back, it would be nice to ski with Mike.
We ended the day watching the Jazz game. It was a good day.
