Baby Animal Days

This was our 3rd year going to the Baby Animal Days.  We always love it, but it was even better this year because Mike was able to come with us!
Last year we came with Jaime and it was super crowded.
This year wasn't bad at all.  We parked close, and didn't have to wait in line for most things.
This year the kids rode the little horses again, we went on a carriage ride.
I'm not sure if they have done this in the previous years, but the kids got to ride big horses.
Jaycee really didn't want to get on the big horse, but I forced her...she loved it!
Bensen was pretty happy to watch.
After the horses they were able to try to ride the mechanical bull.
Once again, Jaycee didn't really want to, but she did great and had a lot of fun.  Silly girl.
After the bull we went to see the cute little baby turtles!
Bensen hated them! They were so darn cute.
Every year the kids beg for a new pet and I am always tempted to get them one. Luckily I have Mike to remind me that I don't really like animals. :) The babies are all so cute! Bensen loved the bunnies.
This year they had the cutest little puppies, the kids all took turns holding them.
I have a hard time with the kids touching all the animals. I kept making them sanitize, but even then I had a hard time even holding their hands. I'm kind of a germaphobe.
After the puppies they had a candy drop.
After the candy drop we ate lunch, then had some yummy little donuts.  They were delicious.
Then it was off to see more baby animals.
And some animals that weren't babies at all.
 The kids loved them all.
They were all pretty darn cute.
The last babies we saw were the chicks and the ducks. One even left Wes a nice little surprise in his hand! I am convinced no sanitize could sanitize what was left behind. So, we headed straight for the bathroom to wash our hands.
As I said in my Easter post, a lot of our family had gone out of town for Spring Break. We decided to stay home and same the money so we can do some things to our yard. So this was one of our activities for Spring Break.  We also went and saw Zootopia, the kids also took turns sleeping in different beds and got to stay up late and watch a movie and sleep in the living room.  That's always a treat. It was no Disneyland, but we had fun, and the kids were really good sports about staying home. I love my kids!
As a scary side note, my dad had a heart attack on the 2nd of April! Pretty scary stuff! He was at the store with Amber and my mom when he started to have chest pain. So they took him to the hospital where they gave him some nitroglycerine and he immediately felt better. So much so that he wished he could go home. Luckily they kept him over night, because the pain came back in the night. They ran all sorts of test and came to the conclusion that he must of had a blood clot that cause the heart attack. He went with Amber to Disneyland and then a week later he went to Nauvoo with Jaime. So they think all the time in the car caused the blood clot. After several days in the hospital they sent him home with a clean bill of health. Lucky for us, we would all like to have him around for a long time!

Happy Easter!

On Monday March 21 was the big South Weber hunt.
It's so nice to have cousins around to hunt with.  Trevor's kids showed a little after I took the pictures.

Bensen was pretty excited for the candy, and did a good job.
We also did family home evening this night.  We did the one with eggs that had things in them that pertained to the resurrection, then the last egg is empty.  The kids enjoyed it I think. I hope they understand the real reason we celebrate some of our holidays.  We really do try to explain it to them.
These are the present we got them for Easter. Jaycee and Wesley also got some new bedding.  It was actually more for me, it is the zipper beds.  I dislike trying to make bunk beds, now we just zip them up, easy peasy!
The Easter Bunny always hides the kids baskets. This year Wesley had the hardest time finding his.  He finally found it in the upstairs bathroom. That silly rabbit!
I love my family so much and I am so grateful that I get to be with them forever! We are all super excited to meet Vivian also, 4 more week! At church someone told me I looked like an Easter egg, not sure that was a compliment or not. :)
A lot of our family was out of town this year for Easter. So we invited everyone that was still around to come to our house. We had a nice little hunt. Our backyard has a lot of good hiding places.
After the hunt we had dinner. We had made barbecue chicken and deviled egg salad, and asked everyone to bring something to share.  It was all very good!
I know I say it all the time, but I love that my kids get to grow up so close to their cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents.  They really are lucky that their best friends are their cousins.
I am so grateful for all that my Savior has done for me. That because of Him I can be with my family forever, and return to live with my Heavenly Father again!
Truly blessed.

March Shenanigans

Lately I have been a serious slacker when it comes to taking pictures. I have tried to be a little better this month.
Bensen has started to cheese it big time! It is pretty funny!
The kids beg me to get in my tub all the time.  I never let them though...to much work for me I guess. These days I am pretty lazy. :)
They finally wore me down and I said yes.  They loved it! Bensen wasn't so sure about it at first, but he warmed up to it.  They have begged me several times since then to do it again, once a month should be good...right?
We had a leprechaun come and visit us on St. Patricks day.  Wesley wanted to set traps all over the house.  I assured him that I would never let a leprechaun in my house to mess it up, so he set the traps outside.
Mike is such a good dad, while I was in the shower he came down to make the kids some green milk. Green, orange, close enough! (We were out of green food coloring, I told him the night before we would have to mix yellow and blue together. Unfortunately for Mike he has a had time with blue and red.)
We love him for trying though.
For dinner we had tomatillo salsa, green rice, and chicken. Yum.
For dessert we had sherbet floats. They were a hit.
I also turned 34 this year! Unfortunately we forgot to take a picture earlier in the day, so this is after I'm ready for bed.  Nice!
The weekend before my birthday, Mike surprised me with a game night with my siblings, no kids.  It was a blast. We ate haystacks and had chocolate fondue. It was all so delicious.  I stayed until 2:30 a.m. playing board games. When I got up to come home I could barely walk! I even tried crawling and that was just as painful! I had to use my moms walking sticks to get home. So now I know that sitting for hours without getting up is no good. That is something I will not miss about being pregnant. The pelvic pain can be pretty intense at times!
On my birthday weekend Mike took me to see a movie and have lunch on Friday. Then on Sunday Mikes mom made me a birthday dinner, meatloaf, my favorite and a yummy cake. Then we went to my house and had more yummy cake! It really was a great birthday. Oh yeah, for my birthday Mike got me a 22 rifle, and some gardening gloves.  I am pretty excited to use both of them! :)

February Fun

Jaycee was able to go to Cheer Camp at the begining of the month. She loved it, then she was able to show off some of her new learned skills at the Northridge boys basketball game. She was in the same group as Mae and Kayla. She had a lot of fun.
Then of coarse we had valentines day. The kids made cute Valentine Jail boxes.  Jaycee needed one for class, Wesley just wanted to make one for fun, they had already made envelopes in his class. They had their class parties on Friday, Valentines was on Sunday this year.
Wesley was the VIP this week at school.
We had fun making his poster, we were able to go into his classroom while he explained his poster. We told his class he likes to go on treasure hunts and he has a metal detector to help him out. Also we told them of the time he pretended to be Santa and had the other kids sit on his lap and he would ask them what they wanted for Christmas.  When they would tell him he would say "I don't have that, do you want a couch?" Or anything else he could see.  It was pretty funny.  He was only 3 when he did that.
He is always a VIP to us!

Sledding

When we first decided to buy our lot the developers told us we would probably have an 8 foot wall in front of our house. Well that 8 foot wall ended up being much bigger! Not only do we have a big wall in front of our house but the neighbors have a pretty big hill in there back yard.  When it rains in the spring it makes for some interesting time, but in the winter it is a blast!
In the front we had to build up a little rim so the kids didn't go off the rocks.  A couple of them still managed to go down the front side.
From the hill in the back the kids could make it all the way down and almost all the way across our yard! It was pretty impressive!
It snowed a lot this year and the kids went sledding a lot!
And the best part was that me and Bensen could sit inside and stay nice and warm and enjoy watching them at the same time.
Bensen doesn't love the snow as much as the other kids, but he was pretty good about helping us shovel as long as it wasn't still snowing.
