Another beach day! We had a lazy morning, then headed to Cahuita national park, where we saw iguanas, monkeys, a raccoon, crabs and lizards. The kids played in the ocean, but it was dirty water, so we decided to go back to the beach from the day before. On our way out we stopped at some showers to rinse off. The howler monkeys, which don’t look as scary as they sound, started throwing things down around us. I don’t think they were trying to hit us, but the kids figured out how to get them to howl. After lunch at a Soda, we were back at Punta Uva, the beach with the swings. The waves were so much bigger today. The kids loved it. It reminded me of surf and swim. They weren’t trying to jump or ride them, just sitting there going up and down, laughing having a good time. We stayed until about sunset. My kids wanted to try and get on the boat at the Vrbo beach, so when we got back to the house me, Jaycee, Bensen and Viv headed to the beach. The tide was up so it was pretty deep, they made it to the boat, but didn’t get on it. Bensen got the closest and told the girls it looked like they would get a disease if they touched it. Still a fun little adventure, but then we had to do the creepy crab walk again. Viv made Jaycee carry her a good portion because things were getting her! Right after we got back it started to rain, when it rains it pours! You would think the rain would cool things down, but it didn’t, it felt like it got more hot and more muggy, if that is even possible! We were all sweating to death trying to play cards. Side note, the humidity on this side is crazy, like in the high 80’s. We did laundry the first day were got here and hung it out to dry. It is all still wet! Not one thing dried. We all stink!

Costa Rica day 8
We spent the day beach hopping. At the first beach there were a couple of fun swings, and a great beach for me to sit and watch. While everyone was out swimming or trying to snorkel I got ambushed! I ended up with some fantastic jewelry and a massage. The jewelry I actually wanted. The foot massage not so much. But she just came up and started doing it and it felt pretty good, so I am not mad.😏 She let me know my right foot is inflamed…good eye since it is at least 2x bigger than my other foot! Jaycee and Mike made me a path to the beach. Who knew walking in sand could be so difficult! After the first beach we went back home and had lunch, then we were off to the next beach where we rented body boards and Amber got a surf board. Most of the kids loved this! Until they got hurt. I think just about everyone ended up with a battle wound! I think Amber, Viv and Jaycee got it the worst. On our way home we stopped at the grocery store and stocked up on some goods. When we got back me and Mike tried to catch the sunset on the beach, we missed it. Then we had to walk that creepy crab path back in the dark. 🦀 Mike made us some more guac to go with our empanadas. The guac was good, the empanadas were the worst we have had so far. We finished the night up with some cards.
