We packed up early and left by 6:30. Mike made baptism appointments for the San Jose temple at 12 and we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. I am so glad we made this stop. It was awesome seeing Wes and Mike do baptisms in Spanish. It was a great way to finish up our trip! We had some time before we could check into our last Vrbo so we went to city mall Alajuela and had lunch. Mike contacted our next Vrbo for check in info, and they told us they were going to need to cancel! One hour before we were supposed to check in! I was so mad! But Mike found us a new place to stay in no time, it even had a washer and drier, so we could not smell terrible on our flights. He is the best! Our flight was early the next morning, we had to leave for the airport by 3 am. Now we are home. It was an amazing trip, but we are all ready to be home.

Costa Rica day 9
Another beach day! We had a lazy morning, then headed to Cahuita national park, where we saw iguanas, monkeys, a raccoon, crabs and lizards. The kids played in the ocean, but it was dirty water, so we decided to go back to the beach from the day before. On our way out we stopped at some showers to rinse off. The howler monkeys, which don’t look as scary as they sound, started throwing things down around us. I don’t think they were trying to hit us, but the kids figured out how to get them to howl. After lunch at a Soda, we were back at Punta Uva, the beach with the swings. The waves were so much bigger today. The kids loved it. It reminded me of surf and swim. They weren’t trying to jump or ride them, just sitting there going up and down, laughing having a good time. We stayed until about sunset. My kids wanted to try and get on the boat at the Vrbo beach, so when we got back to the house me, Jaycee, Bensen and Viv headed to the beach. The tide was up so it was pretty deep, they made it to the boat, but didn’t get on it. Bensen got the closest and told the girls it looked like they would get a disease if they touched it. Still a fun little adventure, but then we had to do the creepy crab walk again. Viv made Jaycee carry her a good portion because things were getting her! Right after we got back it started to rain, when it rains it pours! You would think the rain would cool things down, but it didn’t, it felt like it got more hot and more muggy, if that is even possible! We were all sweating to death trying to play cards. Side note, the humidity on this side is crazy, like in the high 80’s. We did laundry the first day were got here and hung it out to dry. It is all still wet! Not one thing dried. We all stink!
