Twin Falls

We decided to do one last hurrah. We took the trail up to Twin Falls Idaho. We kayaked to Shoshone Falls. It was a fun trip, it took us all day to kayak to the falls. Carrying those 2 men kayaks is no joke! You paddle for a couple of miles, then you carry your kayaks for maybe a 1/8 mile. Which seem like a mile! Then you kayak some more to get to the falls. We had a lot of fun the older kids loved it. Bensen and Vivian were not excited about being on a kayak all day. By the time we got to the falls they were having a pretty good time.
My arms ached all night! Best arm workout ever!
Jaycee starts school this week and has early morning soccer, she is not looking forward to that.
Then the boys start the next week, and Viv will start on the 30th.

Northridge Soccer

Jaycee made the Northridge Soccer team! She went to soccer conditioning all summer. It started June 4th. She was pretty nervous going to try outs. She had to leave girls camp to make it to tryouts. She really sacrificed her time, and stepped out of her comfort zone. All of her hard work paid off because she made the team. She is a little sad that she wont be able to play at Highmark this year, she was looking forward to being a captain.
It has been a hard going from being one of the best and playing the whole game, to only getting to play 15-20 minutes a game. But she continues to improve and do better every day. I am really proud of her.

Bear Lake Cabin

This was our first time up to the cabin to work this year.
Trevor and my dad go up almost every weekend. They are chinking. It is pretty exciting. It is almost all closed in, then they can start on the inside! Half way done on the outside.
When we got home from Bear Lake Mike went over and helped Tyson and Amber with the sky light they just installed.

Missionaries

We love our Missionaries! Truman, Rylee, and Kailey came home this earlier this year, and Parson just came home!
In the next couple of months Logan, Josh and Alyx will go out. We are so excited for them.

Welcome home Elder Heiner!

Boys Backpacking Trip

Since Wesley is now in young mens we had the opportunity to go on a high adventure trip in July.  We did a 3 day, 2 night backpacking trip in the high Uintahs.  We started at the Crystal Lake trail head and hiked in about 4 miles, stopping at a lake on the way for some fishing.  At this lake Wesley was the only one to catch anything.  He caught a flipper!  After the stop for fishing we headed the rest of the way to the camp site, found a good spot to set up camp and pitched our tent.  We made some lunch and Wesley took a nap.  We made dinner, had a fireside and went to bed.  Day 2 was spent hiking to various lakes, doing a little fishing with no success, playing cards, visiting, trail hiking, filtering water, and cooking more backpacking meals.  All the meals were ok except for the Chili mac, in fact it became a expression we can use for trials in our life, "Chili Mac happens."  The favorite was by far the fettuccini alfredo.  Day 3 we made some oatmeal, packed up our bags and hiked out.  Wesley did awesome, he was the first one to reach the parking lot...and he picked up the flipper he caught on day one, and hauled it back to the parking lot.  We learned we need to buy lighter supplies and figure out a better sleep system.  It was a fun trip, and beautiful views everywhere.
