Bear Lake Cabin

This was our first time up to the cabin to work this year.
Trevor and my dad go up almost every weekend. They are chinking. It is pretty exciting. It is almost all closed in, then they can start on the inside! Half way done on the outside.
When we got home from Bear Lake Mike went over and helped Tyson and Amber with the sky light they just installed.

More Fun

Guess where we went this weekend? Bear Lake! We are thinking about moving...just kidding, but sometimes it feels like it.
We stopped in Logan, we went and saw Josh at work. He let me put some of my earring at his store. It was fun to see them on display.
Jaycee begs to go to Old Grist Mill, it is right next to the Logan Outlet so we went and grabbed some lunch then went to a park for a little picnic with Emily.
After our picnic she took us on a hike! I think it was the Bonneville Shoreline trail. It started out pretty steep, but then leveled off. Viv ran the steep incline and then was done for the rest of the hike.

Poor Viv, she gets so red!

It was a fun hike, we would totally do it again!
After the hike we headed up to Bear Lake, we were the first ones up there so we decided to go to the lake, we went and explored the east side.

We headed back to the cabin around the time everyone else was getting there. The girls played some games with Grandma and the boys played outside.

There was also some working going on, but I didn't take any pictures of that.😊
Remember how I talked about the tick a couple of post ago? Well, Mike got a tick this trip! We tried covering it in Neosporin, then I ended up pulling it out with some tweezers. Which we sanitized afterward. The tweezers did the trick, then Trevor tried squishing it with his fingers, we read right after he did that that you should never try to squish them. Anyway I ended taking it outside and killing it with a rock, and it wasn't easy! Tuff little buggers!

More Bear Lake

Once or twice a year we have to pick up a lot of pine needles. During the week we spent some time cleaning them up!
Then on Thursday, it was back to Bear Lake.
This year besides the tick we found last time, there are a ton of caterpillars.
They kept the kids busy for a long time!
Sanding logs with safety glasses sucked! This time we came prepared with some goggles, they worked much better! I know the picture of me sucks, but I had to document that I was there, I am never in the pictures, because I take them. Mike loves to take the most flattering pictures of me.

They had a neighbor complain about the dyers woad, so we spent some time trying to pull it out. They worked really hard! They heard (from the complaining neighbor) that if they took bags of it to some building in Summit county they would get money for every bag. They did like 10 bags unfortunately it was still everywhere, and we didn't go home the right way and it would have been closed because or the weekend. But they worked so hard they earned some ice cream!

The kids begged for some lake time, so after lunch we went to the lake.

The water was obviously freezing! But that didn't stop some of them.
On our way home we stopped and got shakes for all our hard work and patience on the kids part. They are pretty good sports about coming and helping.

Then on Sunday we enjoyed some home church. We love home church.
Later we went for a walk and Viv tried to ride her bike. She doesn't love it. I keep telling her if we take her training wheels off she would like it more. Soon hopefully.

Bear Lake

We spent the weekend up at Bear Lake.
Vivian loves to help with the cabin!
For a minute anyway.
We worked on sanding the inside logs, and cutting the hole for the front door.
It was pretty cold and I spent a lot of time feeding the fire. When I went in to get ready for bed I noticed that I melted my hair pretty good! I'm just glad it didn't catch fire!

We always have some fun when we go up to Bear Lake, but we always talk about how nice it will be when we can just go up and relax and enjoy ourselves.
Someday!
