The Doctor

On our way home from California in May Jaycee got sick.  We took her to the Dr. and she had a UTI. While we were there the Dr. asked if we knew Jaycee had a heart murmur.  Which we did, every time we go to someone other then her primary physician they ask us.  Well, this Dr. told us we needed to get it check out and got us an appointment at Primary's for an EKG.  First they did some x-rays.  This is her after the x-rays, not too bad.
Then it was on to the EKG.  That was a little more scary and she hated those stickers they put on her.

That test came back with a "distress" result. (Whatever that means.) So they sent her in to get a echo cardiogram.  Where they pretty much did an ultrasound of the heart.

After that test they came back and said all was normal.  Thank goodness.  They had us a little scared with the last test.  So that was good news.

Here she is not to traumatized.  She was such a trooper.

I had to throw this on in because I thought it was funny.
A month or so after she had these test done we got sent back because her UTI kept coming back. I didn't take any pictures of these test and they were horrible.  She had more x-rays but she had to lay down for these and have the machine go over her.  So that was a little scary.  For the other one they had to give her a catheter.  I had to hold her down and she was screaming at me like I've never heard before.  It was horrible I was holding back tears.  She just kept yelling at me to get my hands off of her. That only lasted about 5 minutes then it was a lot easier.
Anyway when we got the test results back they were normal!
I am grateful for our insurance and the opportunity we have to go to the Dr. even if my kids are just weird and perfectly healthy. Yeah for healthy kids.
Needless to say I hope we don't have to go back for a long time!

It's in the Bag!

We had a few people tell us about the "It's in the Bag" food storage system.  It sounded like a good idea, so we decided to give it a try. I bought the book at Seagull. Mike went to work building shelves in the cold storage. He also did most if not all the shopping, he's better at that then I am.

We've liked almost everything so far.  There were couple that we tried before we decided it would be one of our meals.  We picked about 16 recipes and made 6 bags of each recipe.
This is what happened to our house, while we worked the kids destroyed.  We were pretty focused and it took us all day!
This is our finished product.  It is so nice to be able to go down and just grab a meal, have everything I need, and be done in 15-20 minutes. I love it.  Your supposed to restock your bag as soon as you use it, we've decided to wait for case lot sales to restock...just to save a little money.
Anyway, I highly recommend "It's in the bag".  We love it.

Jaycee's Room Makeover

Before I start with Jaycee's room I have one more picture of Wesley's.  Now his room is all done except for one wall...I'm thinking of doing his name and a 11x14 picture of him. We'll see.
I've been wanting to decorate Jaycee's room for a long time.  I knew exactly what I wanted. Jaycee didn't exactly agree with me, so I did end up changing the bedding I was going to get.  It still matched with the other things I wanted to do and it is her room after all.  She has been begging for an owl bed.  So that's what we did.  Here are a couple before pictures.  We really hadn't done much but hang her name and the cross stitched fairies.

Here's the bed Mike made right after I painted it.  The night stand is one I had when I was little, just added a little paint.
And the finished project.

It turned out better then I had imagined and Jaycee loves it!
I painted the bigger tree.  The smaller tree and all the owls and other things are stickers.  I got them at Target, so worth the money.  They were easy to put up and the best thing about them is you can remove them and put them somewhere else easy.  Not like vinyl.
Now the only room I have let is mine.  I have found several things I want for it, either they were to expensive or I couldn't fit it in my car to bring home. In California at Old San Diego there was a guy selling watercolors with dried flowers in old frames.  They were beautiful but big and our car was already really stuffed! I'm so sad I wasn't able to get one, they were a really good deal too! :(  If he had been in Utah I would have bought several.

Happy Birthday Jaycee!!!

Jaycee's birthday was yesterday and we had such a good  day!  When she woke up I tried to talk her into going out for breakfast...all she wanted was toast!  So we stayed home and had toast.  Then she wanted to ride bikes and go to the park.  So, we rode our bikes to the park.  Then we went to Chick-fil-a and the kids played on the toys...not something we would normally do.  I'm not a fan of fast food toys. Yuck.  Then we came home took a nap.  We'll the kids took a nap, Mike worked on getting the yard and house ready for guests and I frosted the cake.
Then it was party time.  We had all our families come over, with the exception of a few, and had such a good time.  Jaycee was all about the presents this year, it was pretty cute.  We had pulled pork sandwiches, fruit, chips and patato salad.  Then ofcourse cake and ice cream. Yum.
We are so blessed to have Jaycee in our lives.  She is so sweet, she loves to help...with everything from laundry, cooking, yard work.  You name it she wants to help.  She loves dancing, singing, riding her bike, playing with her cousins, swimming and she is a really big teaser! She teases everyone all the time! Sometimes funny, sometimes not so funny.
For her birthday she wanted an owl bed.  This is what she ended up with.
Mike actually made the bed, then I painted it.
I think it turned out really cute and she absolutley loves it.  Wesley likes it too.
We love our sweet baby Jaycee and are so grateful to have her in our lives.
Oh, and by the way, she turned 4.

Jaycee's Dance Recital

The day before we left for our California trip Jaycee had a dance recital.  She's been taking dance since October.  The first few months I went crazy watching her, she was so naughty and didn't listen. (I'm going to be one of those horrible sideline moms!) The last couple of months she did really well.  I am so proud of my little dancer she did such a good job!
