Oregon Day One

I have wanted to go to the Oregon Coast forever! We finally made it! We started our trip in Bend Oregon. Not on the coast, but in the mountains. It was so beautiful. It took us a little over 9 hours of driving to get there. Our vbro was right by a river. The kids loved exploring. They found some deer, squirls, birds, lizards and toads. I didn't count our driving day in the trip count.
Bend was beautiful! We spent some time in the Willamette National Forest. Our first couple of waterfalls were Sahalie Falls and Koosha Falls. The earth is amazing!

Then we drove for a little while and hiked Tomalitch Falls to the Blue Pool.
Once again, an amazing hike! When you get to the pool there is not really a waterfall. A volcano buried the river for about 3 miles, so the water comes right out of the mountain. It is so clear from running through the lava rocks. Amber, Wesley, Kayla and Colton hiked down to the pool, the rest of us admired it form above. The hikes today were pretty muddy, on the way back down Grandpa Max slipped, and landed right on a log. We are pretty sure he broke his ribs.
