Bear Lake

We decided to go camping over the 4th of July...crazy crowded! It was the first time we've really been camping. We went to Lake Powell when Jaycee was a baby, but other then that nothing. I've been bothering Mike about camping for a long time, I had talked to his sister Sarah about going, so we just planned it.

My sister Amber and her family came up for a day, and my parents brought up the boat. It was kind of cold, and the water was freezing! We had a lot of fun anyway. Don't you love the underwear under Jaycee's suit? She had to wear them because her suit gave her a "wedge". She's a funny kid. Wesley was not a fan of the life jacket.

Jaycee rode in the tube with Mae and loved it.

I thought I was going to have to go with her, so I got my (wet and cold) life jacket on and everything, then she told me she didn't want me to go with her! Sad. We stayed at the KOA, so there was a playground and HEATED swimming pool and this big jumping pillow (which I loved, better then a tramp!), and a bike rental.

We really did have a lot of fun. Jaycee, just the other night after I put her in bed was telling me all about the playground and the fire and the tent. She's so cute. Both the kids did so good. They both slept through the night. Who said camping with little one's was too hard? :)

Sod

We have grass!!! Mike put in a lot of hours but it was worth it. Here's a before picture.

Taking a lunch break. :)

The Morning of Sod. Mike told everyone that he was starting at 9 am...this was at 7:30. Notice the mow strip and some of the front yard done. I think he was out there by 6. He's so funny.
We had a lot of help and it went down a lot faster then we thought it was going to. I think most people showed up around 9, and we were done by 11. So a big thanks to those who came and helped. It's not the funnest job in the world. And here it is a couple of days later.
A guy that Mike works with gave us some transplants, we are hoping they don't all die. We got a great deal on flowers. I bought 4 FLATS for 20 bucks! That's a lot of flowers! We also got mulch and some bushes. Hopefully in the fall we will get a couple trees.
And my mom let me have her bench. Thanks mom. And there you have it. Mike's already looking for another project to start working on. He always has to fixing something. I'm trying to talk him into a fixer up camper. We'll see.

My New Do

For as long as I can remember I've been telling my sister Jaime to chop my hair off! Followed up with "I really want to grow it out." So for my whole life pretty much I've been trying to grow it out. Unsuccessfully at that. Well not anymore! This time I really let her chop it all off. After I had both my kids my hair fell out like crazy. Then when they turn about 6 months old it starts to grow back in, so I have all these little hairs that drive me nuts! I Don't think they will bother me as much this time. It is so weird to look in a mirror, I still do a double take and it's been a couple days. So here it is.

Happy Birthday Jaycee!

Wow!!! I can't believe that Jaycee is three already! We had such a good day. She requested waffles for breakfast, which I started making but I suck at waffles, so Mike finished making them. I made the syrup. Then we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. The penguins there are so fun. Jaycee had a really good time. I tried to talk her into going out for lunch, but all she wanted was a PB & J sandwich. Boring, but that's what she wanted so that's what she got. After lunch she took a really good nap, then it was off to the Splash Pad in South Ogden. Jaycee love loves the water. Last year she was the first one in and last one out, this year was no different. We pretty much had to drag her out crying. Wesley even got in on some of the fun...he was having fun, I promise. :) When we asked Jaycee what she wanted for her Birthday the only thing she would tell us was "A green cake." So I made her a green cake.
I finished her XYZ quiet book and a couple of pages of her other quiet book.
I love how her apron turned out. I loved making gifts for her, I probably love them more then she does. :) After the party we came home and really opened her gifts and played with them. It really was a really good day.
Jaycee is so sweet and such a good big sister. She is always trying to make all of us laugh, especially Wesley. Wesley thinks shes pretty funny, we think she's pretty funny too. She loves to play with her cousins and she loves to tease everyone, Spencer and Trevor are her favorite to tease. She loves going to nursery and singing songs. I think her favorite thing is following Mike around and doing whatever he is doing. Right now that would be playing in the dirt. We are so lucky to have her and we love her very much. Happy Birthday Jaycee!

Crafty

I'm not sure why Wesley has been so difficult to feed lately. He either doesn't like the food or his teeth are bothering him. This is a video I took last night trying to get him to eat dinner. I tried to sneak a bite of veggies in between his peach bites. It didn't go over very well.

I have made Jaycee a couple of birthday presents. I don't know what got into me...a crafty bug I guess. I made her an apron and I had fabric left over so I also made her pajama pants and a pillow case. Then the other day I saw a cute abc felt book over at itsgoodfortheheart.blogspot.com, and while I was looking at that I saw a cute quiet book. So I am now making both of those. Fun? It turns out they are harder then they look. Here is a sneak peek.

I also made a birthday cake for my nieces Abbie and Ellie. Good practice for Jaycee's cake. I'm actually going to take a cake decorating class this summer. I figure it will come in handy. I get to make at least two cakes a year. :)
